Case Study 02 — Aviation Weather

PlaneWX

Social, product copy and a preview video for an AI aviation-weather briefing product — written by a pilot who reads the same briefings before he flies.

The Client

A technical product, sold to pilots.

PlaneWX builds AI-generated aviation weather briefings on National Weather Service data — the same source pilots already check before a flight.

That is a hard thing to market. The audience is pilots: people who spot a bluff instantly and have no patience for marketing language wrapped around a safety-of-flight tool. The product is technical, the buyer is technical, and getting the tone wrong once costs you the room.

PlaneWX needed someone to run its social channels, write about the product, and put it on screen — in a voice pilots would take seriously. That is what Bryghton Media was brought in to do.

What Was Delivered

Social, copy, video and the plan for what came next.

Every piece below was handled by the same person — the one who runs the channels also writes the copy, scripts the video and cuts it.

Social

Instagram & TikTok, End to End

Strategy, filming, editing and publishing for both channels. The content plan, the production and the posting all lived in the same hands.

Social

Hashtag & Keyword Strategy

A hashtag and keyword strategy built around aviation weather and the pilot audience the posts were written for, so every post was tagged to be found by the right people.

Social

Account Infrastructure

Managed the account infrastructure behind the brand’s social presence — management scope, not just posting.

Copy & Script

Product Copy

Writing about the platform itself — what it does with the data and why that matters in the cockpit — in language a pilot respects.

Copy & Script

The Preview Video Script

The full script and voiceover copy for a multi-device preview video, describing the product’s forecasting approach in language built to be credible to pilots.

Copy & Script

A Second Short-Form Variant

A separate short-form copy variant written for a different marketing placement, so the product had the right words for more than one channel.

Video

Multi-Device Preview Video

Produced the preview video itself — the product on iPhone, iPad and Mac, shown in the environment it is actually used in.

Growth

Aviation Podcast Sponsorship

Planned aviation-podcast sponsorship outreach as the next growth channel — reaching pilots where they already listen.

The Difference

He flies. That is the whole argument.

Bryghton is an instrument-rated private pilot. He has sat in an aircraft and needed a weather briefing to be right. Writing for that audience was not a research exercise — it is the same brief he reads for himself.

An agency has to learn the customer. Here, he is the customer. That is what put the right words in the product copy, kept the video script credible to pilots, and let the social channels speak to aviators without a translator in between.

Anyone can run an Instagram account. Almost nobody in marketing can write to pilots and be believed.

Your Turn

Selling something technical to a technical audience?

Tell us what the product does and who has to believe it. We’ll map out what running the channels, the copy and the video would look like — handled personally, start to finish.
